The description of yield curves of multi-harvest crops

The problem of describing the timing of a harvest spread over a number of pickings is discussed. A method of describing timing in terms of distribution moments, hence mean, standard deviation, skewness, and kurtosis is proposed; and examples given of its application to main-crop timing data from cocoa experiments at Tafo, Ghana, with particular reference to the detection and significance testing of experimental treatment effects.
