Abstract

The occurrence of Endogone spores was studied in some 250 samples of Australian and New Zealand soils, and in some Rothamsted field soils. The main diagnostic features of nine Endogone spore types are described, with notes on some of their developmental stages. Seven of the nine spore types formed vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhiza with inoculated host plants.
