AuthorsMurray, P. J. and Clements, R. O.
KeywordsThe pest status of Sitona lineatus; S. hispidulus and S. lepidus on Trifolium repens in grassland and forage crops in the UK and elsewhere is described. The life cycles of the 3 species in the UK are outlined. The effects of larval root herbivory on T. repens are described. It is concluded that areas damaged by larvae are probably the primary source of leakage of N from the plants; and significantly less C was found in infested plants compared with controls.
