Abstract

Comparison of two grazing strategies using commercial dairy herds. Average pasture herbage mass both pre- and post-grazing for 8 trials, showing differences between the two treatments, a Control (standard grazing strategy) and the GrazeMore treatment (allocating additional pasture in response to animal behaviour)

Data collection method

Plate meter readings collected both pre- and post-grazing, base don two replicate samples, each of 40 individual plate meter readings across the allocated pasture area.

Data preparation and processing activities

Summarised as mean values for each occasion, and analysed using a two-sided t-test to assess differences between the two treatments, using days within each treatment period to provide replication of the treatments.
